Boston Consulting Group predicts that the value of the self-driving car market will hit around US$42 billion by 2050. Taiwan is also entering this market. With ITRI’s technology and the cooperation among the government, bus operator, and automotive electronics companies, passengers will soon be able to take a self-driving shuttle between the Hsinchu High-Speed Rail Station and the nearby downtown area.
This is the eighth self-driving trial operation in Taiwan and it aims to be the first commercial route in the country.
